Almost there…

Monday, October 15th, 2007

After two days of driving we’ve made it to Temple, TX. We decided to stop a little early today since we were both very tired and we aren’t in a huge hurry. We have get the keys to the apartment tomorrow at 10 am and the cable guy is coming between 1 and 5.

Ok time to get some rest.

Delayed in Atlanta… for the third time…

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

So the plane that was to fly to Atlanta from Virginia is having mechanical issues. So once again I am in Atlanta for longer than I had hoped. Luckily the Atlanta Airport is nice. I paid for a day of wifi and I am downloading episodes from season 1 of Weeds from iTunes.

Ugh I was suppose to be in NY by 8:30 and now we aren’t even scheduled to leave Atlanta till 9:22pm.  Gotta love modern air travel.

I’m a power whore…

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

… ok whore might be a strong word, but unfortunately laptop batteries eventually run down and die. So Ben, Eddie, and I are hugging the wall near an outlet during the closing keynote. About 3 hours till the Adobe after party at the Lizard Lounge here in Dallas. Ben turns 29 at 11pm central tonight (ya know since he was born in the eastern time zone) so we plan to celebrate a little bit.

I am going to try and grab a quick nap before the party. I am not sure if there is enough time for that, but I am going to try. I am feeling a bit ragged at the moment, but I am hanging in there. All in all the conference has been very interesting.

Webmaster Jam Session…

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

The first day of sessions went well and I fell like I learned a lot. Granted most of it is focused on design which isn’t my area of expertise, but it’s good to be able to understand the possibilities and limitations of front end design. That being said a lot of the presentations have been by folks from vendors like Microsoft and Apple so they’ve been delivered with a stealth bias.

Last night was the Microsoft party…. it was pretty cool. We ended up with plenty of drink cards so we drank for free and played some Guitar Hero 2. I met and talked to some cool people… even if they are designers. Tonight is the Adobe party at the Lizard Lounge I believe.

I was planning on posting some pics, but I can’t seem to locate my card reader. Oh well…. I will post them when I find it.

Like U2 said…

Friday, September 21st, 2007

it’s a beautiful day. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night; as a result I had a hard time waking up this morning, but I made it down to breakfast. I had some very good pancakes and bacon. We checked in to the “Webmaster Jam” and the Microsoft guys had an Xbox set up. I fragged my co-workers for a little while. I guess that time Ben and I spent playing Halo 2 paid off.

Now we are waiting for the keynote to start. We lucked out and got seats that have tables for out laptops. Eddie also got the network key so we could log on to the wifi. They also have free Red Bull. As you can see it’s shaping up to a very beautiful day indeed….

In Dallas for the “Webmaster Jam”…

Friday, September 21st, 2007

So the Jaduka development team is in Dallas for the “Webmaster Jam”. It’s an interesting opportunity to be exposed to somethings that we normally aren’t exposed to and to rub elbows with the same type of folks that we deal with during customer implementations.

Why is it that the more expensive the hotel is the less likely they are to have free internet? The La Quinta has free internet and so does the place in East Lansing Nicole and I stayed at when we visited Michigan last Christmas. However this hotel and the hotel we stayed at in Boston both have daily rates for internet access. And in case you are wondering this $9.99 internet is dog slow.

Anyway I need to be up in about 6 hours and I need to organize my bag to lighten my load tomorrow.

Superbad is super good…

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Superbad Poster Ben, Gina, and I went to see Superbad at the Alamo Drafthouse tonight. They hadn’t seen it, but Nicole and I went to see it the Friday before I left. It was still very funny the second time around. If you’ve ever wanted to peer in to the mind of a sex crazed high school boys mind this is the movie for you.

I laughed my ass off through the entire thing on the first viewing. Although I think Knocked Up might of been funnier. I know that both movies, when they come out on DVD, will be added to my video collection.

Oh yeah sorry about the title of this post I know it’s a bad play on words, but I couldn’t help myself…. honest.

Playing Halo…

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Halo 3 Logo….Halo 2 that is. I didn’t have an Xbox so when I bought my Xbox 360 I didn’t even think to pick up Halo 2 which was an Xbox game, but now that we are on the eve of the Halo 3 launch I decided I better get in gear and knock the rust off my FPS skillz. So when I got to Austin I picked up a copy of Halo 2. Ben and I have been playing. Ben has been kicking my ass, but I am slowly improving. I have real issues with playing split screen and I have never been that good at playing games with a controller.

Halo 3 will be launching on Sept. 25th, the day before my birthday, which gives me two great reasons to take the day off and frag.

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Well I made it safely to Austin one more time. I am looking forward to being in the office for the next few weeks and getting a lot done. I am excited and raring to go, but first I need to get a good nights rest.

See you tomorrow…
