Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Today, Nicole and I went to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo and we had a great time!

Here is what we did:

  • Shot Compound Bows in the Archery Area
  • Nicole Shot a Shotgun
  • Nicole learned to cast a fishing pole
  • Watched a dog training session on snake avoidance
  • Watched part of the birds of prey demonstration
  • Watched as people tried Scuba diving for the first time

We also stopped by the Lakeline Watersports booth to say “Hi” to Roland and he had a bunch of people at his booth. Hopefully it will end up being a prosperous weekend for him.

We did that all in 3 hours. Some of the things are geared more towards kids, but everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

I can say for sure we will be checking out Archery as a possible new hobby. Nicole really enjoyed it and while I think I’ll prefer shooting bulletsĀ  to arrows I enjoyed it as well

(I planned on taking a bunch of pics, but the camera battery died.)

Movie: Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

infinite_playlist.jpg Tonight Nicole and I went to see “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and it was a very funny, coming of age love story. I know that whole sentence was pretty much a movie review cliche, but it’s 100% true. Take a date, sit close, hold hands, and laugh your ass off.

Michael Cera once again shines as the lovable dork with a cool side, Nick. Kat Dennings, who is probably most recognizable as the oldest daughter in “The 40-Year Old Virgin”, plays Nicks accidental love interest Norah. (Duh!) If I say anymore I will probably ruin it so I will stop.
