Ordered some TX Tags…

This blog started as a place for me to talk about moving to Texas, but I haven’t talked much about the subject. Today I ordered two TX Tags one for each of our cars. Here in Texas we have a few toll roads. There are a couple here in Austin, Dallas has a few and Houston has some also. I dunno about the rest of the state. TX Tag is how you pre-pay the tolls.

I take 183 home from work everyday, but I have to get off the exit before our road because our exit is on the toll road. So for me the TX Tag will make for an easier commute. Of course it will cost me $0.50 a day, but who really cares.

I can’t wait for them to get here.

Tomorrow I am going to go to the DMV and finally get my license.  I will let you know how it goes.

the toll system in texas is amazing in my opinion. we texans know how to big massive road systems for sure. won’t that cost ya $1.00 a day ($0.50 each day)? or maybe where you jump on 183 is different from where you exit…

    i loathe the DMV

I have lived most of my life with out toll roads so I am still getting used to the concept, but I am guessing it’s the trade off of Toll Roads vs. State Income Tax. The money to build new roads has to come from somewhere right?

Yeah where I get on 183 is south of the toll road. So I’d just need to pay the toll coming home, but the $0.50 is well worth it because when I do actually get to leave work around 5 it’s a pain to get off at Lakeline Mall Drive traffic is alway backed up at the exit. However the Lakline Blvd exit is less used since you have to pay.
