So this is basically where this journey starts. Today, I was hired by Jaduka which sets things in motion for my wife, Nicole, and I to move back to Austin. I have to give a huge shout out to my buddy Ben, who works for Jaduka, for helping me get the job. My job title is Application Developer. I will be building web based applications so I guess the title fits.
Yes you heard me right we will be moving back to Austin. I know what you’re thinking: If I used to live in Texas how can I be A Yankee in Texas. No worries we are Yankees born and bread. I was born and raised in Michigan. Nicole was born in Columbia, but grew up in New York.
About 7 years ago Nicole and I moved to Austin because Ben got me a job with another company, Simplified, after about a year the bubble burst and I got laid off. We spent another year in Texas before moving to New York to help with Nicole’s families business and that is what we have been doing ever since. Lets face it you don’t get to be much more of a yankee than by living a mere 30 miles from NYC.
I start my new job on May 7th and we will be moving down to Texas in October. Till we move I will be writing about all the planning that is going to this move, work and my visits to Austin. When we get to Texas I plan on writing about my day to day life and our exploration of Texas. The last time we lived in Texas I didn’t make much of an effort to get out and explore what that state has to offer. I plan on doing the complete opposite this time around.
